Terms and Conditions

What to expect from your Physiotherapy assessment

You/your client will always be assessed and seen by a qualified physiotherapist. Our physiotherapists are all registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and will examine and treat you/your client in line with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s code of practice.

During your/your client’s initial consultation your Physiotherapist will ask questions about your/your client’s symptoms and will ask to assess the problem area(s) or complete an full physical examination, this may include observing your/your client’s gait pattern or the way you move around.

After examination the physiotherapist will explain their assessment of the presenting concerns and propose treatment if appropriate, explaining what is involved, including any risks. You/your client may decline any of the treatments proposed, without prejudice. Any treatment plan proposed is tailored specifically to your/your client’s goals.

Your/your client’s consultation and treatment will usually be on a one-to-one basis (unless otherwise agreed) and in the privacy of a chosen domiciliary or community setting.

Your/your client’s appointment/s will be scheduled according to their needs and to the best of our ability.

Anyone may book an appointment. This may be done by telephone on 07842 515 021 or by emailing lauren@theharrogatephysio.co.uk.

We make every effort to help you/your client understand any diagnosis, including your/your client’s individual ‘problem list,’ and any recommended treatment that we feel may be of benefit. We welcome any queries on anything that you/your client may be uncertain of or require more information about. We also require that you/your client make us aware of any factors that could affect treatment or diagnosis. If necessary, we can also send correspondence to your/your clients GP.

Cancellation Policy

The Harrogate Physio requires at least 24 hours’ notice of any cancellation.

If you/your client need to cancel or re-arrange any appointments, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. Please contact us by telephone on 07842 515 021 to advise us of your need to cancel or re-schedule. Please leave a message on voicemail or send a text or WhatsApp message if the telephone is not answered.

We are aware that due to the nature of our service some individuals will have to cancel with short notice, however we must treat all clients the same and with less than 24-hours-notice we are unlikely to fill that appointment slot. Therefore, failure to provide 24 hours’ notice of a cancellation for any reason will incur a cancellation charge which is the full cost of consultation charges.

If there are a significant number of cancellations made on your/your clients account, we will contact you/your client to discuss and agree a solution.

Appointments

If a patient is more than 15 minutes late for their scheduled appointment, it will be at the discretion of the therapist if they can be treated or not.

Payment Terms

Payment is required at the time of the physiotherapy session or within 7 days of the invoice date. Payment methods are shown on our invoices.

We do not accept payment via health insurance policies; however a receipt can be given for assessment and treatment which can be used to reclaim fees with some insurance policies. Please check with your insurance company prior to booking your appointment that your policy covers this treatment.

Any on-going treatment may be suspended or cancelled if our fees and expenses are not paid in full when due. In the unfortunate event that we need to enforce payment from you, you will be liable for all the incurred costs.

Insurance and Regulation

We confirm that The Harrogate Physio holds the appropriate professional indemnity insurance in respect of your/your client’s treatment. We confirm that our Physiotherapists are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council and are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.

We treat all information, facts, matters, documents and all other materials of a confidential nature which we receive or create as a result of your/your client’s treatment as confidential. All written, audio, visual and video records will be stored securely. Information shared within the treatment sessions will be treated with the strictest of confidence and at no time will this information be shared with any third parties without your consent. Consent

Medical and therapeutic problems, procedures and treatments can sometimes be confusing for clients. Our Physiotherapists will not begin any form of information gathering or sharing, objective assessment or treatment unless you/your client have given consent. Consent can be given in either written or verbal form.

In cases where you/your client do not appear to have capacity to give informed written or verbal consent to assessment, information sharing or treatment, a session can proceed in your/your client’s best interests with the support of family/carers. In this case, your physiotherapist will keep you/your client as involved as possible and monitor continuously for any sign that you/your client are unhappy or wish to ‘stop.’

You/your client are expected to respect the clinician during physiotherapy sessions. Aggressive and/or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated. Additional permission will be required for audio / video recording and for the circulation of reports to other relevant professionals.

Withdrawal

The client is free to withdraw from therapy at any time without stating a reason, provided that 24hrs notice is given for any booked appointments.

Termination

The Harrogate Physio reserves the right to terminate therapy at any time.

The Harrogate Physio reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time.
